DESCRIPTION:The date set for 5th Grade Celebration (aka Class Day) is Friday\, June 13.  It isn’t attached to a Community Meeting Day\, but a morning of activities\, a lunch and the afternoon celebration for parents and caregivers. \nCelebration time 1:45-2:30pm for parents/guardians to attend.  There will be some words from the principal\, songs from the 5th graders\, and we are planning other pieces to be shared by students. There will also be a slideshow. There won’t be any diplomas for 5th grade 🙂 \nNOTE: 5th graders should wear their class shirts.

DESCRIPTION:The PTC presents: Newman’s last day of school celebration for teachers\, staff\, students and their families. \nPlease join us on the playground from 3:00-4:30 p.m. for free shaved ice from the That’s So Cool truck\, and free glitter tattoos and free hair art from Kaleidoscope Entertainment. \nPlease note: The last day of school is a half day for students with a dismissal time of 12:40 p.m. To avoid interference with teacher and staff goodbyes\, and the bus and drivelines\, we specifically chose this later time. Students can go home\, have some lunch\, and then come back to celebrate the start of summer! \nWe’ll be offering the “rainbow” flavor package from That’s So Cool\, which includes strawberry\, banana and blue vanilla. All of the flavors are dairy-free\, gluten-free and nut-free. \nNo tickets or check-in needed — simply come and enjoy! \n(NEDP students will be brought outside at 2:30 to enjoy the festivities.) \nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:On October 26th\, the Newman community is invited to get into the Halloween spirit together. \nFamilies and staff are invited to decorate their car trunks for Halloween. Pre-packaged candy and non-food items will be handed out to students and their siblings\, who walk from vehicle to vehicle\, collecting treats. \nDecorated cars should park in the spots in Newman’s preschool parking lot\, where the trunk-or-treat will take place. For those decorating cars\, you may come to Newman as early as 2:00 p.m. \nAttendees should park in the main parking lot\, and you’re encouraged to dress in costume! \nTrunk-or-Treat will take place from 4:00-5:30 p.m

DESCRIPTION:  \nNewman’s annual Physical Education Field Day is coming up on Friday\, May 29! This event provides our K-5 students with the opportunity to try a variety of fun activities that promote health and fitness. Our day is based on student choice\, focusing on active participation (rather than on simply winning/losing)\, and application of skills learned in PE throughout the school year. \nVolunteers make our Field Day a success! Volunteers are needed to monitor each station activity\, assist and encourage students\, put a sticker on the tag of each student who attempts the activity\, and to be willing to have some FUN (more detailed information for volunteers to come soon!). \nThe students will be participating during different blocks of time on Friday\, May 29  (rain date: Thursday\, June 4).  The schedule will be as follows: \nThank you in advance to all volunteers – we can’t do it without you!  PS–Please note that while we love our furry friends\, dogs are not permitted at school wide events–please keep pets at home that day!!
