DESCRIPTION:Who is ready for some good old-fashioned fun? \nThe Newman PTC is hosting an outdoor movie night for the entire Newman community on Monday\, August 26. Playing on the big screen will be “IF” (PG\, 2024.) \nFree bags of popcorn (assorted flavors) will be handed out\, courtesy of the PTC. \nWe’ll be partnering with Sweet Tomatoes Pizza. They will be on site at Newman to grill up some pizzas for us! 10% of all sales that evening will be donated back to the Newman PTC. Below is what the menu will be: \n\nSlice of cheese: $3\nSlice of pepperoni: $4\nMini cheese pizza (10″): $12\nMini pepperoni pizza (10″): $13\nMini veggie pizza (10″): $14\nMini GF cheese pizza (10″): $14\nWater & soda: $2\nLemonade: $3\nMovie candy: $3\nWhoopie pies: $3\nCookies: $3\nGF Rice Krispie treats: $3\nCash or Venmo will be accepted by Sweet Tomatoes.\n\nThere will be a red carpet and a step and repeat (large photo backdrop) to be used for event photography. (Any paparazzi out there want to help with photos? Students can go home\, have some lunch\, and then come back to celebrate the start of summer! \nWe’ll be offering the “rainbow” flavor package from That’s So Cool\, which includes strawberry\, banana and blue vanilla. DESCRIPTION:On October 26th\, the Newman community is invited to get into the Halloween spirit together. \nFamilies and staff are invited to decorate their car trunks for Halloween. Pre-packaged candy and non-food items will be handed out to students and their siblings\, who walk from vehicle to vehicle\, collecting treats. \nDecorated cars should park in the spots in Newman’s preschool parking lot\, where the trunk-or-treat will take place. For those decorating cars\, you may come to Newman as early as 2:00 p.m. \nAttendees should park in the main parking lot\, and you’re encouraged to dress in costume! \nTrunk-or-Treat will take place from 4:00-5:30 p.m

SUMMARY:Field Day
DESCRIPTION:  \nNewman’s annual Physical Education Field Day is coming up on Friday\, May 29! This event provides our K-5 students with the opportunity to try a variety of fun activities that promote health and fitness. Our day is based on student choice\, focusing on active participation (rather than on simply winning/losing)\, and application of skills learned in PE throughout the school year. \nVolunteers make our Field Day a success! Volunteers are needed to monitor each station activity\, assist and encourage students\, put a sticker on the tag of each student who attempts the activity\, and to be willing to have some FUN (more detailed information for volunteers to come soon!). \nThe students will be participating during different blocks of time on Friday\, May 29  (rain date: Thursday\, June 4).  The schedule will be as follows: \nThank you in advance to all volunteers – we can’t do it without you!  PS–Please note that while we love our furry friends\, dogs are not permitted at school wide events–please keep pets at home that day!!
