DESCRIPTION:The Newman PTC is hosting a glow-in-the-dark dance party for all students. \nThere will be a DJ\, glow-in-the-dark party supplies\, raffle prizes\, games and a whole lot of fun! \nThis event is free of charge; snacks and water will be available for purchase. \nNewman students only. \nOn the day of the event\, students should enter the building through the cafeteria to grab their raffle ticket and party supplies! \nWe understand that weekends are busy\, so if your child cannot stay for the duration of the dance\, they may come or go at whatever time is convenient for you. \nParents are not required to stay\, but if we do not get enough volunteers\, it will be mandatory. \nVolunteer at the dance and/or to RSVP for your child \nQuestions? Please contact Newman PTC Presidents Allison Freedman and Emma Navales at: newmanptcpresident@gmail.com

This means that students understand and respect diversity; act with empathy and courage to ensure equity\, access\, and an anti-racist culture; and address local and global issues through civic and community engagement. In order to help students work toward this competency\, explicit racial literacy instruction is required. Furthermore\, research demonstrates that effective racial literacy instruction must begin in elementary school or even earlier. The Racial Literacy Task Curriculum is designed to help students gain knowledge about race as it has been constructed in the United States and aims to help students acquire an awareness of their own racial socialization and skills for engaging in productive conversations about race and racism. \nThe Newman Elementary School Parent Teacher Council (Newman PTC) serves to enrich the education of all of our children and foster a sense of community.
