The Parent Teacher Council (PTC) serves to enhance the education of all of our children and foster a sense of community by sponsoring many diverse enrichment, social, and fundraising activities throughout the year.

All Newman families are members of our PTC
with full benefits and voting privileges.

PTC Flash 

• Have a great summer vacation, everyone.  See you back at Newman on September 1.  See the 2010-2011 Needham calendar here.
• The PTC will host Kindergarten playdates on Monday, August 30 so that Kindergarten families can meet each other before the start of school.  The A.M. Kindergarten playdate is 10-11 A.M. and the P.M. Kindergarten playdate is from 11 A.M. - 12 P.M.  Both will be at the Newman large playground.
• Principal Jessica Peterson is holding an open house for grades 1-5 at Newman Tuesday August 31th. Classroom visits will be held from 2:30 to 3:00 followed by a popcicle party from 3:00 to 3:30 in the front courtyard.
• We hope to see everyone at the PTC's first school-wide event of the year - An ice cream social at the Newman playground on Friday, September 10 at 6 PM.  Join the PTC for some playtime on our playground and enjoy an Ice Cream Sundae as well!  This is a great chance to meet new Newman families and reconnect with friends after a summer away!
• The PTC depends on your generosity for all the incredible Curriculum Enhancement Programs and other things that we do for our children, school, and teachers.  Extra pledge cards may be found on the PTC information table in the Newman lobby.  Or if you prefer, make a donation with a credit card.
• The  program is Green Kids' earth friendly walking program!  Students log "trips" (a walk or bike ride that replaces a car trip) on a log sheet.  Each log sheet equals 25 trips.  Challenge your friends.  Let's see which grade will walk/bike the most!  Foot Loose Fridays count as "trips" on your log!
